Lynn Spitz, our friend and former board member, has set off on his personal journey to the stars. We can only guess what amazing sights and worlds he may encounter. He may even fulfill his dream of building his own world, complete with all the physics worked out perfectly. It would not be a surprise to any who knew him.
Lynn served on the R-SPEC board for over a decade, acting as Secretary, contributing to and editing our Rochester Rewritten anthology, presenting numerous topics at our monthly meetings, formatting our ebooks for publication, providing invaluable feedback on draft stories, and much, much more.
Many R-SPEC members will recognize Lynn immediately as he always had a way getting and holding your attention. His presentations and his insightful critiques showed us how much he cared about a world that had speculative fiction in it.
His life experience and passions were certainly much more than what we can share here: a growing command of the Welsh language (among many others), a deep joy of being in the Society for Creative Anachronism, and the love he shared with Tom Douglas—just to name a few.
We wish all who have met and known Lynn to take a few minutes to read some of Tom’s memories and recollections of Lynn and the life they shared together.
At the start of our May 6, 2025, meeting, we will have a Memories Space for anyone who wishes to share with fellow R-SPEC members their thoughts of Lynn.
Ad astra, Lynn Spitz!
