The topic of the meeting was writer's block. Janice Carello led a discussion of the problems, their causes, and some solutions, including some ideas about processes to reach solutions. Problems/Causes:
- Query letters
- Difficulty making regular time for writing
- Lack of desire to do work writing affects ability/desire to do creative writing
- Guilt spending time alone writing when feel should be spending time with family
Solutions/Approaches:
- Make regular time for writing
Even if don't write at all, sit there in front of the writing tool
Brain gets used to notion and block erodes
- Think of someone close to you and how that individual would see the problem
- Imagine what would have to happen tonight for you to wake up and have the problem be gone
