R-SPEC Rochester Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror - Annual Business Meeting + Will AI Replace Speculative Fiction Writers?

R-SPEC holds its Annual Business Meeting during the first half-hour of the meeting. We look back upon our accomplishments in 2022, and elect Board members for the coming year. The meeting is open to the public, but only paid R-SPEC members are eligible to be on the Board and to vote in the elections.

In our constantly advancing, technological world, it’s understandable if you think your days of being an author, editor, or translator may be over. Can machine learning software match or even exceed the learned skills and talents of writers and artists? We examine the ethics of this possibility in our Will AI Replace Speculative Fiction Writers? discussion.
