Member Pat Rapp forwarded a notice that Ursula K. Le Guin will be conducting a reading in Second Life as part of a group called Second Life Librarians in conjunction with the TALIS Sci-Fi & Fantasy Portal. I believe the time mentioned is SLT, which is the same as Pacific Time. Here is the information from her message:

This is advanced notice of an event which will happen on Saturday, Feb. 28th.
-----------------------------------------------------------

The TALIS Sci-Fi & Fantasy Portal presents an in-world event in connection with a real life conference.

Ursula K. Le Guin will read from her novel,  "Always Coming Home."

Starting at 3:30 pm, the Portal will stream in live video and audio (into SL) of the Potlatch 18 Science Fiction Conference in Sunnyvale, California.

We'll use the Open Air Auditorium on Info Island--down the grey walkway -->center of Info Isl.

If time allows, we'll be able to ask Ms. Le Guin questions at the end of her reading.

Second Life Event Time

On February 21st, 2009 Pat Rapp (not verified) says:
Yes, the time listed for the Second Life event is SLT - the same as Pacific Time. For those of us on the East coast, that means the event will be taking place at 6:30 p.m. Also, the month of March is Science Fiction Month at the library archipelago in Second Life. The LeGuin talk marks the beginning of a month of events and programs taking place at various libraries. Anyone interested in holding an R-Spec event at the Monroe County Library System's Second Life Amphitheater should contact me to get on the calendar. This is a good time to get some recognition while SL libraries are promoting SF!
